Setting the cache for MyPMS

In IE6, you can get set this correctly by going to Tools->Internet Options

In the middle of the screen, there is a page "Temporary Internet Files". Choose the last button, "Settings".

Some properties have had selected _Check for newer versions of stored pages:_ NEVER. It should be set as AUTOMATICALLY.

Setting the browser for support of the EZ Search Function

If you are having trouble seeing the EZ Search Ex. (previous guest or company names), this can be corrected by clearing the web browser cache in Internet Explorer.

The web browser will store web pages / files that it accesses, and under certain circumstances retrieve from disk rather than downloading the file remotely. It is possible that your PCs accessed files from a previous release while it was up, that no longer matches with the current running system.

Following are the steps required to clear the browser cache. (Note: this is for Internet Explorer 6. Steps might differ on previous versions, but we recommend you have the most up to date version of Internet Explorer, both for better feature support AND importantly security updates that microsoft releases!)

Open an Internet Explorer browser, or use one that is open.
Navigate to the "Tools" menu, select "Internet Options".
On the "Internet Options" window, the "General" tab should be selected by default. If not, select it, it is the first on the left.
In the middle "Temporary Internet files" panel, click "Delete Files".
A message will come up asking if you're sure you want to do this. Select the "Delete all offline content" checkbox, then press "OK".

While you are here, verify the cache settings.

Back in the "Internet Options" window, select the "Settings..." button.
Verify that the set of radio options has "Automatically" selected, if not have them select it.
Click OK.
Click OK to save settings, and get back to the browser.

*IMPORTANT*

After, Close all programs, so that nothing is on the task bar. This is an important step, and in many cases, the user doesn't follow through. Without closing all the browsers, it will not work as expected.

Once all browsers are closed, open a new IE browser, and try to access the system again.
